PORTUGAL’S TILES: A MUSEUM IN THE MIDST OF THE CITY

“Small smooth and polished stone,” this is how Muslims referred to this artistic expression in the Middle Ages, which went through different styles and languages, but in Portugal was adopted like nowhere else in Europe.

Tiles invaded convents and churches, as well as houses, gardens, and fountains, with geometric shapes that told stories, expressed in different currents.

Portugal is an urban museum that will continue to generate surprises over the centuries, becoming a heritage of great importance for the world’s artistic and architectural history.

A journey that inspires and generates memories, a dream built to create, fantasize, and believe that even the greatest utopia is possible.
