Japan??? One of the most interesting countries in the world!

GOING TO JAPAN? But that’s in the middle of nowhere, it’s very expensive, and they only speak Japanese! Why go all the way there? The truth is that all this is true… AND?

Japan is as far from Colombia as Colombia is from Japan. BUT IT’S WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY! It is one of the five most expensive countries in the world, along with Bermuda, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland; but it is also one of the CLEANEST. How about not wearing shoes in the houses or helping to pick up trash in the stadiums after a game? Take a tour of one of their subways or trains and see. Try to find a trash can on the streets. DO YOU KNOW WHY THEIR FLAG HAS A RED SUN? It is the Land of the Rising Sun. It has been called this since the year 607, commemorating the close history between Japan and China. Let’s remember with this that in Japan the sun rises in the East and in China it sets in the West.

Its archipelago has 6,852 islands!!! “Not bad,” but with a few small exceptions, the “heart of Japan” is on the island of Honshu, where the Emperor and tourism have always been: Here we find the very modern Tokyo, the cosmopolitan Osaka, and the romantic Kyoto with its castles, historic center, and geisha district (and where the Emperor was until the late 19th century). From here it moved to Edo, now called Tokyo, which means “City of the East.” Also noteworthy are its charming and monumental places like Nara (with Deer and Buddhas), Nikko (with Shinto Shrines), Hakone (with Mt. Fuji, the “Fujiyama” and the Hot Springs), the traditional Takayama (with its Procession Floats), the beautiful village of Shirakawa, or the VERY sadly famous Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Visiting these places DOES give us a VERY good idea of ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD.

Until next time.
