A few days ago, I told you that it’s not many kilometers from Spain to Italy and that it is a very enjoyable journey if taken calmly. What I didn’t tell you is that Italy is the country with the highest number (51) of World Heritage monuments and sites.
YES! It is number 1 on this list and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Very varied in cultures, traditions, nature, landscapes, coasts, islands, and gastronomy. One of the most varied countries I’d say… And not everything has to be museums, churches, and “broken stones” or “the usual” like Rome, Florence, and Venice, as spectacular as they may be.
How about after a few days in FRANCE, you move on to present-day Italy and “lose” yourselves along THE ITALIAN RIVIERA, the “Cinque Terre” or the Tuscan coast?
So, what is CINQUE TERRE? This small cliff region consists of coastal cities with colorful houses perched (I don’t know how) on steep natural terraces. Here, their ports are filled with fishing boats, their trattorias offer the freshest specialties (with seafood to die for), and the most incredible panoramic views of the sea.
Fancy sleeping in PORTOFINO, taking a boat ride in Vernazza, or enjoying the medieval walled town of Lucca? It’s SENSATIONAL!! The Tower (the one that NEVER falls) is just 19 km away, and all this is topped off with ancient (and modern, of course) cultures and civilizations, like the Etruscan, Greek, and Roman, excellent climate, and great gastronomy.
With 15-18 days, you can have a great trip! FROM THE SOUTH OF SPAIN TO THE ITALIAN RIVIERA!
WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?
Because traveling is not just passing through a place but getting to know it AFondo!
Until next time.
