When to travel and tour the FORMER YUGOSLAVIA?

¡El mundo a tu manera!

Edu’s Blog

The reality is that the Former Yugoslavia no longer exists, but there are a number of countries that still share common traits (history, culture, language, and charm).

Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, and Kosovo are fascinating in terms of history, culture, and NATURE.

It would be best to travel in a group, at least 6-8 people, to reduce the cost of transportation and guides (which I recommend to understand their history and culture well), but, I insist, there are no problems traveling alone.

Besides their national languages, it is easy to find, especially among those under 40, people who can manage well in English and Italian (those over 40 usually manage in Russian and German, in case it helps).

There is little crime, they like to meet (without being “annoying”) visitors, they have very good tourist infrastructure (with beautiful islands, beaches, and small towns), and excellent gastronomy and shopping.

Although their tourist costs are not very high, except in certain periods (July-August, which is very hot, expensive, and congested).

Normally we travel in May-June or September-October and organize it at least 6 months in advance. Planning changes everything!

If you feel like it, do it!

Until next time.
